A comedian has transformed a brief appearance on the popular podcast Kill Tony into a full-time role, following a humorous revelation about her parents’ unfavorable views on the show’s host, Tony Hinchcliffe.
With millions of listeners each week, Kill Tony showcases aspiring comedians attempting stand-up routines while established comedians critique them, often with sharp humor.
Comedians randomly selected from a bucket often find their lives changed overnight if their performance resonates with the audience or if they manage to connect with the show’s core cast.
In a recent episode aired on April 14, Sarah Sloan, a 27-year-old comedian, earned a permanent position after jokingly addressing her parents’ disapproval of Hinchcliffe’s jokes during her set.

Despite a not-so-stellar minute-long performance, Sloan’s previous experience on the podcast and her unique talent for mimicking horse sounds caught the attention of the audience.
During the lively interview segment, Sloan mentioned her inexperience with dating, which led to an unexpected kiss from a band member, Big Mike, leaving her flustered about her parents’ potential reaction. “You just ruined my life. My parents are going to kill me!” she exclaimed.
Sloan shared that her mother had been disheartened after her previous appearance, where the hosts’ playful teasing had left a sour impression. “When we had lunch after that incident, they told me they were really disappointed in my performance,” she recalled, adding that they critiqued her for laughing along with the jokes directed at her.
Hinchcliffe found the feedback puzzling and humorously questioned why any performer would shy away from engaging with the comedy during a show meant for humor.
After inquiring about her career and salary, Hinchcliffe made a spontaneous decision: “You know what, Sarah? I’m about to enrage your parents further. We’re going to match your salary and bring you on board with us. Welcome to the team!” he announced, playfully directing a message to her parents about supporting their daughter.
He humorously suggested a brief probation period to assess her sanity but quickly noted her addition to the show’s roster.
This unexpected twist followed just a week after ‘Kill Tony’ ended a 12-year run of weekly YouTube uploads to debut its Netflix special titled ‘Kill or Be Killed,’ marking an exciting evolution in the show’s journey.
