Total Recall
Say You’ll Remember Me by Abby Jimenez has debuted impressively, claiming the top position on our hardcover fiction chart. This remarkable performance is particularly notable as it marks Jimenez’s first widely released hardcover novel, differing from her earlier works that were launched simultaneously in hardcover and trade paperback formats, with the latter often designated for libraries.
Cooking the Books
In 2018, Sarah Ahn founded the Ahnest Kitchen website to preserve her mother’s cherished recipes and to share the nuanced cooking techniques that are characteristic of Korean home chefs. Her efforts have gained significant traction, amassing hundreds of thousands of followers on TikTok and Instagram. This week, Sarah and her mother, Nam Soon Ahn, made a strong entrance at #2 on our hardcover nonfiction list with their cookbook Umma, which provides an in-depth look at what Sarah describes as a cuisine rooted in the essence of heartfelt preparation.

Raina Telgemeier, known for her celebrated middle grade graphic novels, including the Eisner Award-winning Guts, has joined forces with esteemed comics theorist Scott McCloud, recognized for his influential graphic nonfiction such as Understanding Comics. Together, they present The Cartoonists Club, which now holds the #4 spot on our children’s fiction list. Our starred review praises this graphic novel for its dual role as a guide for budding comic artists, featuring creative prompts, practical tips, and definitions delivered with a humorous touch, effectively blending an engaging story with accessible instructional content.
Hart & Heartwood
The Sirens by Emilia Hart has captivated readers, earning the #5 position on our hardcover fiction list. Our review describes it as “a high-voltage tale of family secrets, fantastical occurrences, and Australian history,” and notes that although “the narrative occasionally veers from entertaining to exhausting,” it remains a thrilling read. In other book club news, Amity Gaige’s literary thriller Heartwood is currently #14 on our hardcover fiction list. While the plot may lack focus and feel implausible at times, it is complemented by richly developed characters and poetic language that reflect Gaige’s introspective themes surrounding aging and the dynamics of mother-daughter relationships.
