Toronto Public Health has issued a warning to individuals who attended a recent concert at the Coca-Cola Coliseum, indicating a potential exposure to measles.
The concern arises from an individual who was present in Toronto for a concert at the venue on April 1, which took place between 5:30 p.m. and midnight.
The Coca-Cola Coliseum’s schedule indicates that contemporary Christian artist Forrest Frank performed that evening. In light of this situation, Toronto Public Health recommends that attendees closely monitor for measles symptoms, which may include fever, runny nose, cough, and red eyes, until April 22.
Additionally, they have highlighted that other symptoms to be aware of could involve a red rash that typically begins on the face and subsequently spreads to the rest of the body, as well as small, blue-white spots that may emerge on the inside of the mouth and throat.
If symptoms do manifest, health officials urge those affected to seek medical care from clinics or hospitals, ensuring to inform them of their situation beforehand to help mitigate any risk of further transmission of the virus.
