Travis Kelce Addresses False Donation Claims
In recent days, former NFL punter Pat McAfee publicly commended Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce for a purported $3.3 million contribution aimed at aiding the homeless. However, Kelce has since clarified that the report was inaccurate.
This misinformation initially surfaced in a report from the Daily Mail, prompting McAfee to laud the athlete’s efforts on his show, stating that Kelce was “making the world a better place.” Yet, in a subsequent podcast episode, Kelce set the record straight, indicating that no such donation had occurred.

Kelce expressed his concerns about false narratives circulating online. “I got to make a little statement in the ‘don’t believe everything you read, kids’ category realm that you see online,” he remarked. He refrained from providing specifics about the erroneous claims, emphasizing his desire to avoid further spotlight on the situation.
In his statement, Kelce directed individuals interested in his actual community involvement to visit his organization’s website, 87&running.org. He mentioned the efforts of his charity to support both Kansas City and Cleveland communities, although he asserted that the claims made in the media regarding his alleged donation were unfounded.
Despite the misinformation, Kelce took a moment to acknowledge McAfee for his ongoing support for athletes. “Shout-out to McAfee for always trying to look out for the guys and women in the sports world,” he added.
Notably, the charity Foster Love had previously shared a now-deleted post where they referenced Kelce’s imagined donation. The post described plans for a “6,500-foot property” which was to include various amenities—a gesture aimed at providing a supportive living environment for youth facing homelessness.
In their original announcement, Foster Love claimed that Kelce’s donation would facilitate housing, mentorship, and educational resources for these youth, empowering them towards independence and helping to break the cycle of homelessness. “It’s inspiring to see @killatrav use his platform to make a real difference for vulnerable youth,” they stated.
Amid the surrounding speculation, it has been suggested that Kelce may have informed McAfee indirectly about his intentions regarding a return to the NFL, with McAfee sharing a text he received that hinted at Kelce’s comeback. “Got a real bad taste in my mouth with how I played in that last game and how I got the guys ready for battle!” McAfee read aloud, leading to further conjecture about Kelce’s future plans.
As the narrative continues to unfold, McAfee concluded, “I think you can say Travis Kelce is coming back to play football yet again.”
Kelce did not elaborate further on this topic during his podcast discussion, leaving fans and followers to anticipate his next move both on and off the field.
