Trump’s Golf Resort Targeted by Activists Amid Controversial Comments

Donald Trump’s Turnberry resort in Scotland has become a focal point for protest as activists vandalized the property in response to his recent remarks regarding Gaza.

On Friday night, activists targeted the South Ayrshire golf course, which is owned by Trump, painting the phrase “Gaza Is Not 4 Sale” in large letters on the lawn and damaging key areas, including the course’s most famous hole which has hosted Open Championships.

The clubhouse was also defaced with red spray paint, prompting a reaction from Palestine Action, the activist group responsible for the vandalism. They labeled the act as a “direct response to the U.S. administration’s stated intent to ethnically cleanse Gaza.”

Trump’s recent rhetoric has intensified, including statements about transforming the region into the “Riviera of the Middle East” and alluding to “cleaning out the whole thing.” These comments have sparked widespread condemnation, particularly following his sharing of an AI-generated video on Truth Social that depicted plans for Gaza involving images of Trump and Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu in a satirical context.

This video included a comical portrayal of a gold balloon shaped like Trump’s head, aiming to draw parallels between Gaza and the Las Vegas Strip. While initially intended as humor, the creator later expressed concerns that it might offend the White House.

In a message directed at the two million Palestinians residing in Gaza, Trump warned, “To the People of Gaza: A beautiful Future awaits, but not if you hold Hostages. If you do, you are dead.” This declaration coincided with the Trump administration’s approval of a shipment of 40,000 bombs to Israel.

A representative from Palestine Action condemned Trump’s approach to Gaza, emphasizing that the territory is not his to exploit. They indicated that the vandalism at Turnberry was aimed at demonstrating that his properties are not immune from protests against U.S.-Israeli policies.

Amidst the ongoing controversy, a Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed reports of the damage, stating that they are currently investigating the incident. They have urged anyone with information to come forward.

In response, a representative from Trump Turnberry characterized the act as “childish” and asserted that the team at the resort would ensure operations proceed without disruption. They maintained that Turnberry is a “national treasure” dedicated to excellence in golf.

This is not the first instance of vandalism associated with Trump, as his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame has previously been targeted. Such acts reflect ongoing tensions surrounding his presidency and policies.
