US Open Quarter-Finals Highlights

The US Open progresses to the quarter-final phase at Flushing Meadows on Tuesday, with the matches broadcast live on Sky Sports.

Representing the United States are Taylor Fritz, Frances Tiafoe, and Emma Navarro as they aim for victory in their respective quarter-final rounds.

In the men’s draw, Fritz is set to clash with Alexander Zverev, while Tiafoe will face Grigor Dimitrov. The women’s quarter-finals will feature Paula Badosa against Navarro, and Aryna Sabalenka taking on Zheng Qinwen.

Tiafoe has made a name for himself at this year’s tournament, showcasing his talent in a gripping five-set match against fellow American Ben Shelton. This thrilling performance was followed by a victory over Alexei Popyrin, who recently made headlines with his surprising win against Novak Djokovic.

“Growing up, I watched the Williams sisters and Roger Federer claiming titles here, and I aspired to step onto this iconic court named after Arthur Ashe,” Tiafoe reflected. “I wanted to be a part of that legacy, and it truly motivates me to excel.”

He further mentioned: “I’m focusing on one day at a time. Grand Slams span two weeks, and there’s so much happening. It’s crucial not to get ahead of myself by speculating on future outcomes, as every player poses a significant challenge.”

In a notable achievement, Bulgaria’s Dimitrov overcame sixth-seeded Andrey Rublev, securing his place in the US Open quarter-finals for the first time since 2019.

Navarro has also made her mark by reaching the quarter-finals of a Grand Slam for the second time, and this is her debut at the US Open after defeating defending champion Coco Gauff in her previous match.

“Being in the city where I was born makes this experience incredibly special,” Navarro expressed.
