Joseph Dominguez, the CEO of Constellation Energy, is set to address the attendees at the CERAWeek by S&P Global energy conference happening in Houston. This event comes as Constellation works towards reviving operations at the Three Mile Island nuclear facility.
As the operator of the largest collection of nuclear reactors in the United States, Constellation is focused on bringing the Three Mile Island Unit 1 reactor back online by 2028. This effort is being supported by a partnership with Microsoft, which is looking to secure power from the facility.
The initiative to restart Three Mile Island serves as a significant signal of the technology sector’s growing inclination to utilize nuclear energy in order to meet the rising electricity demands of its data centers.
However, this planned restart will require the green light from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission before it can proceed.
