Violent Road Rage Incident Leads to Arrests in Loudoun County

LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. – Two individuals were apprehended after an alarming road rage incident involving gunfire in Loudoun County, Virginia, on Tuesday evening.

The accused have been named as 29-year-old Jimmy Paredes Madrid and 34-year-old Aldo Betancourth Rivera, both residents of Sterling and reported to be undocumented immigrants.

Law enforcement responded to calls reporting shots fired near East Maple Avenue and South Lincoln Avenue around 9:30 p.m. on December 3rd.

Investigation revealed that the suspects discharged a firearm at an occupied vehicle during what appeared to be a road rage encounter. Fortunately, while the vehicle incurred damage, the occupants were unharmed.

Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman expressed his commitment to ensuring the safety of the community, stating, “I am determined to do everything possible to protect the citizens of Loudoun County and will continue to press for greater immigration enforcement to keep illegal drugs, gangs, and violent criminals out of our nation.”

In a conversation with FOX 5, local resident Amy Feather shared her mixed feelings on the situation. “It’s difficult because there are a lot of people who work here and contribute to the community in Herndon, in Sterling, in Loudoun County in general. But there is also an issue with illegals coming in and committing crimes, and something needs to be done. But it has to be done in a rational way. There are many families trying to escape dire conditions in their home countries and come here for a fresh start, yet crime can occur regardless of immigration status—absolutely! I struggle with that one,” she stated.

Betancourth Rivera faces charges as a Principal in the Second Degree for shooting into an occupied vehicle, a classification that is considered a class 4 felony. Meanwhile, Paredes Madrid has been charged with shooting from a vehicle and shooting into an occupied vehicle—both also class 4 felonies—as well as brandishing a firearm, a misdemeanor.

Currently, both suspects remain in custody at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center without bond.
