Tyla Shines Bright at Coachella 2024

No artist captivated the Coachella Desert Valley quite like Tyla, the talented South African pop sensation and Grammy winner. It raises eyebrows to think that with her chart-topping singles like “Water” and “Truth or Dare,” this was her first performance at the iconic festival. Surprising as it may seem, it marks a significant milestone in her burgeoning career.

For Tyla, this debut was especially meaningful, as her loved ones were in attendance. “My family flew in to watch me perform,” she shared. “It was a lot of their first times traveling outside of South Africa, and I just loved having them here to experience all of this with me.”

On Day 1 of Coachella, Tyla delivered an unforgettable performance, showcasing not only her original hits but also a remix of Aaliyah’s classic “Rock the Boat,” as well as a surprise duet with renowned artist Becky G. Her dynamic set was a testament to her vibrant artistry and stage presence.

Sporting an eye-catching Y2K-inspired outfit, Tyla wore a vintage Dolce & Gabbana ensemble featuring a shimmering gold crystal bra and beaded brocade hotpants sourced from the brand’s 2000 spring collection. She complemented her look with a tied white top, fishnet stockings, and Burju lace-up boots. “When I work with my stylist Ronnie (Hart), we’ll just be in a room, and we’ll play around and just have fun with it,” Tyla explained. “We’ll just put whatever we feel looks hot on and rock it!”

Adding to her striking appearance, Tyla adorned herself with various pieces of mixed metal Pandora jewelry, including elegantly shaped bangles, intricate pavé rings, and gold hoop earrings featuring playful shark tooth charms—an homage to her devoted fanbase known as “Tygers.” In tandem with her Coachella debut, the Danish jewelry brand announced Tyla as their new ambassador, joining the ranks of other celebrated figures like Pamela Anderson and Chloe and Halle Bailey.
