Beau Greaves Shines on UK Open Debut
In an impressive display at her debut in the UK Open, Beau Greaves opened her campaign with consecutive 6-1 victories over Stefan Bellmont and Rhys Griffin. Competing in a formidable field of 158 players at Butlin’s Minehead Resort, Greaves showcased her skills by delivering an average of 96 and executing a remarkable 152 checkout during her match against Bellmont. This performance set the stage for her encounter with Griffin.
Greaves, nicknamed ‘Beau ‘n’ Arrow,’ maintained her momentum with another win in the second round against the Welsh contender Griffin. Her success has now led her to face the seasoned competitor Mickey Mansell in the upcoming third round of this unique multi-board event.
The competition intensifies as the world’s top 32 players are set to join the tournament on Friday evening, including notable figures such as reigning champion Dimitri Van den Bergh, world number one Luke Humphries, and world champion Luke Littler.
Following the conclusion of the third round on Friday afternoon, a randomized draw will be conducted live on the main stage for the fourth round, along with additional draws after each subsequent round.
During a discussion on the Darts Show Podcast, darts player Matthew Edgar expressed confidence in Greaves’ potential, identifying her as a player to watch. He remarked, “In the Challenge Tour, Development Tour, and Women’s Series, she’s leading all three rankings with earnings of £17,000 thus far. Including her achievements in the WDF, she ranks among the top earners across darts in 2025, demonstrating her outstanding performance. We’ve witnessed her capabilities on the ProTour.” He added that Greaves is likely to be a crowd favorite and possesses the talent to contend for the tournament title.
