A notable installment in the Gaming Legends series of Fortnite collaborations has made a comeback in the shop, marking its first appearance since 2020.
While collaborations often attract a wider audience to Fortnite, they are accompanied by uncertainty regarding their availability. This unpredictability stems from licensing agreements with the original content owners, making the Gaming Legends series particularly enigmatic.
Among these collaborations, the Psycho Bandit skin from Borderlands, which debuted in August 2019, is considered one of the rarest. Its last appearance in the store was in May 2020, leading to a high demand from players who wished to secure the skin after its initial availability closed.
In an unexpected development, this elusive cosmetic has reappeared, igniting excitement within the fan community.
The Psycho Bandit skin was previously sold for over a thousand dollars
Originally launched in Season X, the Psycho Bandit bundle was designed to promote the release of Borderlands 3. It featured the Bandit Outfit, a Claptrap Pet, and Psycho Buzz Axes priced at 2,000 V-Bucks.
Prior to today’s release, fans eager to obtain this bundle had to either wait patiently or consider spending significantly more for the chance to purchase it from unofficial sources, risking account bans in the process.
Before its re-introduction on April 28, 2025, the bundle was being listed online at exorbitant prices due to persistent demand and its long absence from the store, reinforcing its status as one of the most coveted skins.
Multiple online listings have adjusted their prices since the return of the item shop, though many still reflect the high demand. A quick search reveals that the bundle is still available for over $1,000 on platforms like eBay and Eneba.
One specific listing even asks for $1,800.00 USD, despite the current in-game price being just 2,000 V-Bucks, roughly translating to about $20 USD.
It remains uncertain when or if this skin will be available again, but for those interested in adding it to their collection, the shop will feature it until May 4, 2025, when it is scheduled to rotate out.
