Gamers immersed in the Call of Duty franchise have reason to celebrate as the beloved Classic Prestige mode returns in Black Ops 6. This revival offers a fresh opportunity to progress through the game in a manner not seen in recent iterations.
In previous titles, players experienced time-gated Prestige levels linked to different seasons, limiting their advancement opportunities. With the comeback of Classic Prestige, players now enjoy the freedom to advance at their own pace. However, it’s important to note that for those opting for Prestige, there will be significant consequences, including the loss of unlocked items such as weapons and perks.
Entering Prestige mode carries the weight of a substantial commitment. As the series often emphasizes, this mode is “not for the faint of heart.” Players must prepare to bid farewell to their favorite perks and killstreaks, only to earn them back anew with each prestige level achieved in BO6.
How do you Prestige in Black Ops 6?
The grind begins once again. To initiate the Prestige process, players must reach level 55 in Black Ops 6 within both multiplayer and Zombies modes. The former seasonal Prestige limitations are a thing of the past in this installment.
Upon reaching level 55, players can opt to enter Prestige mode, which entails a complete reset of their progress. This means starting over from level one and working their way back up through the ranks to 55. Notably, BO6 features 10 Prestige ranks and an impressive additional 1,000 Prestige Master levels to conquer after completing Prestige 10.
Once players choose to advance to Prestige mode, they will experience the following resets:
- Reset to level one
- Loss of all previously unlocked content, including weapons and perks
- Reset of loadouts
However, certain aspects of player progression will not be affected:
- Weapon progression and unlocks (such as camos and reticles)
- Saved weapon builds
- Challenge progression and unlocks
- Battle pass and purchased store content
- Unlocked operators and emotes
- Owned blueprints
What do you get for Prestige in Black Ops 6?
Rewards are plentiful for those who choose the Prestige path in Black Ops 6. Each Prestige level completed awards players with unique rewards every 10 levels up to level 50. Additionally, there are two instant rewards each time players enter Prestige, including one Permanent Unlock, allowing them to permanently unlock one item of their choice.
For instance, those who achieve Prestige One will receive rewards such as the Nacht Raider skin for Weaver and one Permanent Unlock. As players advance to levels 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50, they can expect to gain various cosmetics, including calling cards, emblems, blueprints, and weapon charms.
This design means that each new Prestige provides around six or seven new items to unlock, alongside retrieving previously unlocked items from levels one to 55 that have not been permanently unlocked yet.
