La Seine Musicale in Paris served as a vibrant stage for Usher during his two-week residency in 2023, where he delivered a dynamic performance celebrating his extensive music career. This captivating concert has been documented in the upcoming film Usher: Rendezvous in Paris, which is set to hit theaters worldwide starting September 12.
In expressing his sentiments about the experience, Usher remarked, “Paris was a special experience for me as an entertainer and for my fans. I hope those who weren’t able to make it in person get to experience how special it was. As for those of you who were, I hope you experience the show and see what it takes to get there through a different lens.”
The concert film is poised to be showcased in 2,000 theaters around the globe, with approximately half of these venues located in the United States, from September 12 to September 15. Tickets will be available starting on August 6. Directed by Anthony Mandler, the film features Usher performing some of his most iconic songs, such as “Yeah!”, “My Boo”, and “Love in This Club.” The residency coincided with Paris Fashion Week, attracting a high-profile audience that included stars like Cher, Dwyane Wade, Gabrielle Union, and Pharrell Williams.
The release of Rendezvous in Paris continues Trafalgar Releasing’s trend of producing concert films for U.S. and international audiences. This company has previously released hits like Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour and Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé.
“We are excited to continue our partnership with Sony Music Vision and AMC Theatres Distribution to bring the energy of Usher to movie theater audiences around the world,” stated Marc Allenby, CEO of Trafalgar Releasing. “He is the perfect artist to support our shared vision of creating global experiences around concert films for artists that advance the evolution of the cinema into venues for all forms of entertainment.”
