Valkyrae is advocating for modifications to Twitch’s Terms of Service (TOS) to enhance her streaming experience and prevent any future bans.
Rachell ‘Valkyrae’ Hofstetter was recognized as the third most-watched female streamer in Q1 2025, trailing only behind popular VTubers Pekora and Miko, who have set a significant precedent in viewership metrics.
Reflecting on her achievement this year, Valkyrae expressed her enjoyment of multi-streaming across both Twitch and YouTube, while highlighting a significant concern regarding Twitch’s limitations.
Hofstetter pointed out that Twitch’s current rules hinder her ability to multi-stream effectively, adversely impacting the quality of her Video on Demand (VOD) content.
Valkyrae advocates for integrated YouTube chat on Twitch
In a recent post on X, the co-owner of 100 Thieves elaborated on her desire to display chat from both platforms on her stream, as it enhances viewer engagement for those watching her VODs. However, Twitch’s policies restrict any chat display solely to its own platform.
“Displaying YouTube chat on Twitch is against their TOS, while displaying Twitch chat on YouTube is permissible,” she remarked. “This leads to my YouTube audience continuously questioning if I am seeing their messages, which can be frustrating. Being able to merge both chats in OBS would significantly improve the experience,” she added.
The experience of multi-streaming has been quite rewarding lately… My only setback is that I prefer to showcase chat on screen for VOD viewers, but Twitch prohibits the display of YouTube chat. Therefore, I can only present Twitch chat.
I monitor both chats but I continuously see our YouTube audience requesting attention.

Twitch’s Simulcasting Guidelines specify that streamers are prohibited from merging chat or features from other platforms during their broadcasts.
Hofstetter also mentioned that, while she considers Twitch’s chat environment to be superior, the viewing experience on YouTube is generally more favorable.
Shortly thereafter, Valkyrae revealed she had discovered a workaround that allows her YouTube multi-stream to incorporate both chats, but many users still agree that displaying them simultaneously on Twitch should be an option.
I completely agree! I recently began multi-streaming and it has been fantastic, but I tend to neglect my YouTube chat due to the VOD chat rule. I have pinned a permanent comment on YouTube encouraging viewers to switch to Twitch for chatting, though it feels less than ideal. I sincerely hope this rule gets revised!

“Absolutely! Engaging in multi-streaming has been incredible, yet due to the chat restrictions on VODs, I hardly interact with my YouTube chat. I only pin a comment urging viewers to switch to Twitch, which is definitely not optimal,” noted chess Grandmaster akaNemsko.
“I hope this feedback prompts some changes! I eagerly await the day when chat from all platforms can be unified,” echoed another streamer, Noko, expressing a shared sentiment among the community.
With extensive experience on both platforms, Valkyrae initially committed to YouTube for five years before returning to Twitch to enjoy the benefits of multi-streaming.
She attributed her decision to YouTube’s emphasis on video content and pointed out that many changes she suggested during her tenure on the platform were never implemented.
