The film has firmly established itself as the first significant blockbuster of 2025, maintaining its impressive performance into the fourth week of release. Despite a robust opening weekend, the box office experienced a slight dip during weekday screenings. However, with the Holi holiday approaching, the momentum is expected to revive, ensuring that Vicky Kaushal’s remarkable success remains sustained!
By the close of its third week, Chhaava had already garnered an impressive ₹84.05 crore at the domestic box office. Weekend collections saw a substantial increase of 91%, with Saturday earnings reaching ₹16.75 crore and Sunday totals hitting ₹10.75 crore. The inevitable post-weekend decline saw Monday’s revenue fall by 44% to ₹6 crore, followed by ₹5.15 crore on Tuesday, according to Sacnilk.
By Monday, Chhaava had surpassed the ₹700 crore milestone in global earnings, with totals reaching ₹712.5 crore by Tuesday! The film has benefitted from a lack of significant competition among new releases, allowing for an uninterrupted and successful theatrical run.
In addition to Vicky Kaushal’s compelling performance, Chhaava features a talented ensemble cast including Rashmika Mandanna, Diana Penty, Neil Bhoopalam, Ashutosh Rana, and Divya Dutta. Directed by Laxman Utekar, the film premiered worldwide on February 14, 2025, drawing inspiration from Shivaji Sawant’s Marathi novel of the same name. Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the film during a recent address at the 98th Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan in Delhi.
