In a recent interactive session, a fan questioned Vicky about his method acting techniques, reflecting on his contrast between earlier roles like that in Masaan, where he portrayed an innocent character, and the explosive rage required for this new role. Vicky recounted, “When Laxman Utekar, the film’s director, approached me with this role during the shoot for Zara Hatke Zara Bachke, I felt an overwhelming responsibility to honor such a monumental legacy. It was a mix of excitement and apprehension, thinking about whether I could truly represent Sambhaji Maharaj’s profound contributions to our history.”

He elaborated on the transformative journey this character offered, stating, “Engaging with this historical figure has offered me a chance to delve into and appreciate the rich tapestry of our culture, beliefs, and the love for our homeland. This experience not only broadens my perspective but also contributes to my personal growth. Now, as we approach the film’s release on February 14th, I find myself anxious yet hopeful for audience reception, given the passionate effort from everyone involved.”

On January 16, Vicky commemorated an important date in history via Instagram, marking the Rajyabhishek (coronation) of Sambhaji Maharaj and linking it to their film’s narrative. Moreover, the film’s ensemble cast includes notable actors such as Akshaye Khanna, who plays a pivotal role alongside Vicky and Rashmika Mandanna, who portrays Yesubai Bhonsale.
