Vijayta Pandit Reflects on Shah Rukh Khan’s Rise and Her Son’s Aspirations
Actress Vijayta Pandit recently discussed her relationship with Shah Rukh Khan, reminiscing about how she first met him during the production of “Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman.” At that time, she noted, Khan was living in modest conditions, occupying a small room.
In a recent interview with The Indian Express, Pandit shared that her late husband, renowned music composer Aadesh Shrivastava, had made a promise to help their older son, Avitesh, find his footing in the film industry through Khan’s assistance. However, she expressed frustration over the lack of communication from Khan in recent years.
“I tried to reach out to Shah Rukh Khan’s team but received no response,” Pandit explained. She highlighted her role as a single parent and the urgency she feels regarding her son’s career. Reflecting on the promise made by Shrivastava, she mentioned, “Aadeshji held SRK’s hand and pointed towards Avitesh. Now is the time when Avitesh should be playing the main hero. Nothing has happened even after I spoke up.” She recounted her attempts to connect with Khan’s secretary, Pooja Dadlani, though her calls went unanswered.
Pandit vividly recalled her early interactions with Khan, emphasizing the humble beginnings both she and Khan experienced. “Back then, there was no sofa in his house; we sat on mattresses. Shah Rukh was just starting his journey in the industry,” she said, contrasting that past with his present-day success, marked by his luxurious residence at Mannat. “God has given him so much, so now he has to keep his promise. I am not asking for a film role; just a recommendation or help with auditions would mean a lot.”
Aadesh Shrivastava, who passed away in 2015, left behind two sons, Anivesh and Avitesh. Vijayta Pandit’s comments reflect a deeper sentiment about familial support and the often elusive nature of connections in the competitive world of Bollywood.
