Vikrant Massey Addresses Career Struggles and Retirement Rumors

Bollywood actor Vikrant Massey has recently been in the spotlight, not only for his latest film, *The Sabarmati Report*, but also for a social media post that led to speculation about his future in acting. His statement suggested a break from the industry in 2025, prompting some fans to mistakenly believe he was announcing his retirement. At a recent event, the Times Network India Economic Conclave, Vikrant took the opportunity to clarify his intentions.

During an interview with Times Now, he reflected on his unexpected journey in the film industry. “I never imagined I would go through all of this in my life. I failed 12th grade, and now my work is recognized so highly. My dream was to win a Filmfare award, and I accomplished that,” he said. Vikrant expressed his gratitude for the accolades he has received, emphasizing his humble beginnings. “For someone from a middle-class family, meeting the Prime Minister and having him watch a film that means the world to me is a monumental achievement,” he mentioned.

Discussing the pressures of his profession, Vikrant opened up about the emotional and physical exhaustion that comes with it. He candidly acknowledged feeling “physically exhausted” while balancing numerous projects. He described experiencing a form of “creative saturation” after years of consistent work, which has prompted him to consider taking a short break for personal rejuvenation.

Vikrant also clarified the context of his social media message, which may have caused confusion due to its English composition. “I thought it was an appropriate time to express my feelings, especially with the Prime Minister watching a film so close to my heart. I believed this could lead to even greater things, but when you reach a point where creativity feels stifled, recalibration becomes essential. Unfortunately, the overuse of English in my message made it less accessible,” he explained, humorously admitting his miscommunication.

In the past few years, Vikrant’s career has flourished, with notable films like *12th Fail*, *The Sabarmati Report*, *Cargo*, and *A Death in the Gunj*. He has more projects set for release in 2025, and his performances in popular television shows like *Balika Vadhu* and the web series *Mirzapur* continue to earn him acclaim from audiences.
