Violet Grohl, the daughter of iconic musician Dave Grohl, is reportedly preparing to release her first album.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Violet has been diligently crafting new tracks in a studio space gifted to her by her father for her birthday. Having previously performed with Dave and released solo music, she is recognized for her dedication to her artistry and her desire to evolve as a musician, as noted by a source close to her.
At present, she has been collaborating with producer Justin Raisen, who has an impressive portfolio that includes work with a diverse array of artists such as Charli XCX, Drake, and John Legend, in addition to Kim Gordon on her Grammy-nominated album The Collective.

Violet’s musical journey began in 2018 when, at just 12 years old, she performed a cover of Adele’s “When We Were Young” alongside her father. She has continued to gain experience, collaborating with her father and surviving Nirvana members on a rendition of “Heart-Shaped Box” and providing backing vocals for prominent artists like St. Vincent and Beck.
Her vocal contributions can also be heard on the Foo Fighters’ albums Medicine at Midnight and But Here We Are, and she participated in tribute concerts honoring the late Taylor Hawkins. In 2021, she released her first single, a cover of X’s “Nausea,” with her father once again contributing.
“She’s a true torch singer,” a source stated to The Hollywood Reporter, praising her recent work. “Her vocals are tremendous. She’s very talented.”
Details about Violet’s upcoming full-length album remain mostly undisclosed, including whether it will be released under the Foo Fighters’ Roswell Records label through RCA Records, as was the case with her single “Nausea.”
Recently, the Grohl family has taken a step back from the public eye. In September, Dave Grohl announced the birth of his daughter from a relationship outside of his marriage, expressing his commitment to being a supportive parent. “I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness,” he shared on social media, thanking the public for their understanding as the family navigates this new chapter.
