Virginia Giuffre, known for her accusations against the convicted sex offender Jeffery Epstein and Prince Andrew, has reportedly died by suicide. The Western Australia Police Force informed sources that they received a call on Friday night at 9:50 PM local time regarding an unresponsive woman at a home in Neergabby.
Given emergency first-aid, she could not be revived and was pronounced dead on-site.
While the investigation is ongoing, authorities have indicated that the circumstances do not appear suspicious.
In a statement released to the media, her family revealed that she had taken her life, honoring her as a “fierce warrior in the fight against sexual abuse and sex trafficking” according to People.
Giuffre gained notoriety for being among the first to publicly disclose abuse allegations against the late Epstein, claiming that at just 16 years old, she was recruited into a disturbing sex trafficking operation led by his associate, Ghislaine Maxwell.
She accused Epstein and others, including Prince Andrew, of sexual assault. In 2022, Giuffre reached an out-of-court settlement with the British royal after claiming he had sexually abused her three times while she was still a minor.
Maxwell had been found guilty on multiple counts of sex trafficking in 2021, while Epstein died by suicide in a New York jail in 2019 during a pending trial for federal sex trafficking charges.
In the weeks leading up to her death, Giuffre made headlines by stating that she had only four days to live following a serious car accident. She expressed a readiness to pass but also emphasized her desire to be with her children.
Her family noted that Giuffre chose to take a stand against her alleged abusers after becoming a mother, having three children—Christian, Noah, and Emily—with her husband.
