New Airline Route Enhances Access to Charleston, South Carolina

Charleston, South Carolina continues to be a top choice for travelers, and the introduction of a new airline route is set to simplify journeys to this charming city.

Beginning June 6, 2025, American Airlines will offer direct flights between Charleston International Airport (CHS) and New York’s LaGuardia Airport (LGA). This new service will be available twice a week, specifically on Fridays and Saturdays, during the summer season. The flights, which have a duration of two hours and 17 minutes, will utilize the Embraer 175 aircraft.

American Airlines already connects Charleston to a variety of major hubs including Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Philadelphia, Miami, and Washington, D.C. (DCA). In addition to American, Charleston International hosts flights from several other carriers, including Allegiant, Avelo, Breeze, Delta, Frontier, JetBlue, Southwest, Spirit, and United, as well as international service to Toronto, Canada provided by Air Canada.

Travel + Leisure has reported that travelers can find attractive one-way fares starting at $99 for Friday flights and as low as $79 for Saturdays. Moreover, American Advantage members have the option to use their miles, with award tickets available for as little as 7,500 miles plus a $5.60 fee. Notably, these flights will operate from LaGuardia’s newly opened Terminal B, a modern facility that features both an Admirals Lounge and a Chase Sapphire Lounge.
