vivo Launches V50 Lite 5G: Impressive Features and Specifications

On Monday, vivo introduced the V50 Lite 4G, and just days later, the company announced a 5G variant of the device. While both models share similar characteristics, including a remarkable 6,500mAh battery with fast charging capabilities at 90W, the 5G version boasts an upgraded chipset that enhances connectivity.

The newly integrated Dimensity 6300 chipset replaces the Snapdragon 685 found in the 4G edition. It is complemented with options for 8 or 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and either 256 or 512GB of UFS 2.2 storage, though it is important to note there is no support for microSD expansion.

In addition to enabling 5G connectivity, the Dimensity chipset also supports a newer version of Bluetooth (v5.4 compared to v5.0). While vivo has not specified the supported Wi-Fi version, expectations lean towards Wi-Fi 5 (802.11 ac), consistent with the capabilities of the 4G model.

Featuring a 6.77-inch OLED display, the vivo V50 Lite 5G includes a vibrant 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 1080p+, with peak brightness reaching an impressive 1,800 nits. A centrally positioned punch-hole houses a 32MP selfie camera, complemented by an under-display optical fingerprint sensor.

The rear camera setup introduces an upgrade, maintaining a 50MP main sensor (Sony IMX882, 1/2.0”) but now featuring an additional 8MP ultra-wide lens, in contrast to the 2MP secondary sensor on the 4G version. The camera system also includes an Aura Light, acting as a ring flash positioned below the lenses.

Powering the device is the substantial 6,500mAh battery, which vivo claims will retain at least 80% capacity after five years of use. Users can expect about 10.5 hours of gaming on a full charge. Compared to its predecessor, the V40 Lite 5G, this model offers a 1,000mAh increase in battery capacity and a dual charging capability of 90W, achieving full charge in around 53 minutes and reaching 50% in just 23 minutes.

With an IP65 rating, the phone demonstrates resistance to dust and can withstand minor water exposure. It also features “four-corner air-cushion technology” to enhance durability in real-life scenarios.

While the device does not include a traditional headphone jack, it is equipped with stereo speakers for an enhanced audio experience.

vivo V50 Lite 5G available in multiple colors

The vivo V50 Lite 5G is currently on sale in Spain, with the 12GB RAM and 512GB storage variant priced at €400. Interested buyers can find it on the online store. The device is offered in several colors, including Titanium Gold and Phantom Black (the latter appears more like a deep purple). Additional color options include a textured Fantasy Purple and a Silk Green with a wavy design.
