Walton Goggins
‘SNL’ Host Talks Began Long Ago …
Way Before Shot at Aimee Lou Wood

Walton Goggins is set to host “Saturday Night Live” next month. While there has been speculation that his hosting gig is a jab at his “The White Lotus” co-star Aimee Lou Wood, sources close to the situation indicate that this interpretation is misguided.
Recent rumors suggest a rift between Goggins and Wood, stemming from their time together on ‘White Lotus.’ This speculation gained traction due to their lack of mutual followership on Instagram and a joke Goggins made in a recent ‘SNL’ promotional clip that poked fun at Wood’s teeth.
However, insiders report that discussions about Goggins’ participation as a host were ongoing well before the recent controversies, indicating that any connection to the jokes made at Wood’s expense is coincidental.
No specific content for Goggins’ episode has been confirmed yet, leaving open the question of whether he might address the situation with Wood during his appearance.
In case you missed it, when Jon Hamm hosted “Saturday Night Live” on April 12, a pre-recorded skit titled “The White POTUS” aired. This sketch parodied “The White Lotus” and included impersonations of key figures from Donald Trump’s administration.
While most of the performers impersonated actual politicians, Sarah Sherman took a more direct approach by parodying Wood, using oversized fake teeth and adopting a faulty British accent.
Wood later expressed on social media that she found the skit both mean-spirited and unfunny. Although she mentioned receiving an apology from ‘SNL’ staff—which they later denied—she was seen visibly upset shortly after the broadcast. Despite this, she asserted that her emotions were not specifically related to the parody.
In comments on the skit shared by ‘SNL,’ Goggins responded with enthusiasm, typing, “Hahahahahhahaha Amazzzingggg.” It’s ambiguous whether his laughter was directed at Wood or the performance itself.
Ultimately, it appears Goggins’ hosting opportunity was not intended as a critique of Wood. Now, the public awaits to see if he will acknowledge the tension during his time on the show.
