According to BroadwayWorld’s recent coverage, the popular program “Stars in the House,” created by Seth Rudetsky and James Wesley Jackson, is set to resume its regular schedule this spring. This ongoing initiative continues to function as a vital platform supporting marginalized communities and organizations in need. Just last night, the show held the Annual Harmony Gala Benefit for The New York City Gay Men’s Chorus, which took place live at the Edison Ballroom within the Hotel Edison.
The evening’s festivities were skillfully hosted by Julie Halston. Notable accolades were given during the event, including the prestigious Gary Miller Award, which was awarded to George Takei and presented by renowned Broadway star Lea Salonga. Additionally, the duo of Seth Rudetsky and James Wesley Jackson received the Arts in Action Award, while Kelsey Louie was also recognized with the Gary Miller Award.
This year’s Gala showcased a spectacular array of performances from the New York City Gay Men’s Chorus and the Youth Pride Chorus. Special appearances were made by Broadway talents such as Aaron J. Albano (notable for roles in Aladdin, Allegiance, and Newsies), Claybourne Elder (who has appeared in Company and Sunday in the Park with George), Daniel Reichard (known for his Tony-nominated performance in Jersey Boys), and Jenn Colella (a Tony Award nominee for Come From Away and Urban Cowboy).
