Rachel Zegler delivered a captivating performance of “Who I’d Be” from Shrek the Musical at the 2023 MISCAST benefit concert organized by MCC Theater. This rendition will be among the highlights in the forthcoming release, Miscast: The Studio Sessions, which is set to drop this Friday.

Held on April 3, 2023, MISCAST23 recognized the achievements of Emmy, Grammy, and Tony winner Vanessa Williams and MCC Youth Company alum Lianny Toval. This annual event has become a staple in New York’s theater scene, drawing considerable attention as it showcases prominent stage and screen talents performing songs from roles for which they are typically not cast. The Hammerstein Ballroom served as the vibrant venue for these performances.

About Rachel Zegler

Rachel Zegler is poised to star in Disney’s upcoming live-action adaptation of Snow White, scheduled for release in 2025. She first gained widespread recognition for her role as María in Steven Spielberg’s critically acclaimed West Side Story (2021), a performance that earned her the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy.

In addition to her notable film debut, Zegler took on the role of Anthea in Shazam! Fury of the Gods in 2023 and portrayed Lucy Gray Baird in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. She also featured in Y2K, the directorial debut of Kyle Mooney, which was produced by A24 and premiered at the South by Southwest Festival in 2024 before its general release on December 6.

Her recent Broadway debut was in a revival of Romeo + Juliet, where she played the iconic role of Juliet. Looking ahead, Zegler is set to take on the title role in Evita in the West End, marking another significant milestone in her career.
