Kareena expressed her enthusiasm for portraying a detective, stating, “I think I loved playing that part because this is the first time I am playing a detective, and I am a huge crime drama fan.” She acknowledged the challenges brought on by her character’s profound grief, highlighting that while it tested her, it also brought a fulfilling experience. She noted, “It’s a career-defining role for me and one of my best characters.” The actress even expressed a desire to have the concept expanded into a four-part series, reflecting her deep attachment to the role.
The film received a warm reception during its global premiere at the BFI London Film Festival 2023 and was screened at the 2023 Mumbai Film Festival held at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre in October, indicating strong early interest and potential impact upon its general release.
