Incident Involving Jillian Shriner Raises Concerns
Jillian Shriner, the spouse of Weezer’s bassist Scott Shriner, experienced a life-altering event while at her home in Los Angeles on Tuesday. The situation unfolded when police were responding to a hit-and-run incident that occurred around 3:25 p.m. on the 134 Freeway, leading to three suspects fleeing into her neighborhood.
Upon their arrival, officers began searching for these suspects and encountered Shriner in her backyard, reportedly armed with a firearm. According to a press release from the Los Angeles Police Department, officers instructed her multiple times to drop the weapon, which she refused to do. In a critical turn of events, Shriner pointed her gun at the officers, prompting them to engage in an Officer-Involved Shooting.
Following the shooting, Jillian reportedly retreated into her home but later emerged. Paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department transported her to a local hospital, where she was treated for injuries identified as non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.
Subsequent investigations established that Shriner was not connected to the earlier hit-and-run incident, and it was confirmed that she resided at the property in question. However, the police announced that she would be “absentee booked for attempted murder.” During their investigation, authorities recovered a 9 mm handgun from her residence.
The LAPD’s Force Investigation Division is now conducting a thorough examination of the case. Jillian Shriner, who has been married to Scott since 2005, is a mother of two and an established author, recognized for her works including “Some Girls: My Life in a Harem” and “Behold the Monster: Facing America’s Most Prolific Serial Killer.” Meanwhile, Scott Shriner is expected to perform with Weezer at Coachella this coming Saturday, amidst the unfolding circumstances.
