Kim Seokjin, popularly known as Jin from BTS, stands out as one of the most acclaimed figures in the K-pop industry. At 32, he has captured the attention of a global audience with his talents as both a singer and songwriter. BTS’s artistic contributions have earned them significant recognition and financial success, establishing them as one of the wealthiest musical acts worldwide.

Despite their immense wealth, all seven members of BTS have remained grounded, carefully preserving the charm that initially endeared them to their dedicated fanbase, known as ARMY. Nevertheless, there are moments when a little celebration of their global stature is warranted. Jin, seizing the opportunity, charmingly illustrated that he is far from being a “broke millionaire.”

In 2022, Jin made a notable appearance on the YouTube program My Alcohol Diary, hosted by rapper Lee Young Ji. The announcement of Jin’s guest appearance sparked excitement among BTS fans, who were eager to see the dynamic interplay between Jin’s candid and humorous persona and Young Ji’s entertaining style. The episode did not disappoint, delivering engaging content that resonated with viewers.

During their discussion, Jin candidly shared insights about HYBE’s recording policies, his past drinking habits as a youth, and his reasons for joining the show. A particularly amusing moment arose when Young Ji posted a humorous notice on her bathroom door, claiming that Jin would need to pay KRW 1 million (approximately $695) each time he used the facilities. However, Jin, familiar with the show’s inside jokes, remarked, “I even know that your bathroom is broken…” This quip took Young Ji by surprise.

Despite her initial attempt to collect the fee, Jin skillfully downplayed the amount, laughingly asserting, “1 million won every time I use it? It’s not that expensive.” This prompted Young Ji to rethink her strategy and modify the sign to include a greater sum, adding several zeros to the fee.

In a humorous exchange, as Jin observed the inflated price, he quipped, “Wait a moment… ones, tens, thousands, millions, 100 billion… I’ve never had that much money yet, but maybe I can loan money to use the bathroom.” This playful banter provided comedic relief and left everyone in attendance thoroughly entertained. Jin also made headlines for casually revealing that he was wearing a sponsored t-shirt, which fans quickly identified as a piece from the luxury brand Dior.
