Amber Nemeth, the owner of HayMad and Co., a small business based in Winnipeg, is experiencing rapid growth and exciting opportunities. She recently announced plans to attend the Golden Globes in Los Angeles, marking the second time her company has been invited to showcase its Be Kind collection to celebrities.

Prior to this, Nemeth represented her business at the Emmy Awards, where she also received a warm reception. “We are returning to L.A. for the Golden Globes, and this trip follows shortly after the Emmy experience,” she noted.

Following her return home, Nemeth received an unexpected invitation. “I was thrilled to get an email explaining how the Be Kind movement resonated with many guests we met in the Emmy gifting suite,” she shared. “They invited us back to participate in the Golden Globes gifting suite to keep the momentum going.” For Nemeth, this opportunity is surreal and hard to grasp.

“It’s been incredible and at times challenging to understand how a small business like ours is receiving such amazing opportunities,” she remarked. “As a business owner, it’s often tough to pause and celebrate achievements when you’re constantly focused on the next goal.” Nevertheless, she feels a deep sense of pride in her work, particularly in what the Be Kind collection stands for.

“The collection promotes mental health awareness, an issue that needs more attention, much like physical health. It’s crucial for all of us to acknowledge and discuss mental health without shame,” Nemeth emphasized.

A percentage of the proceeds from her collection is donated to the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA). “Over the past five years, we’ve contributed nearly $10,000 to the CMHA,” she said, highlighting the impactful nature of her work.

Participating in the Golden Globes serves not only as a platform to further advocacy for mental health awareness but also showcases the potential of small businesses from Winnipeg. “This is exciting for us as a business and for Winnipeg as a whole. We are thrilled to represent a city we love on such a large stage,” Nemeth expressed, looking forward to her trip which is set for January 1st.
