California Woman Arrested for Boyfriend’s Murder After Home Invasion Claim
Authorities in Pleasanton, California, have arrested a woman previously believed to be a victim in a home invasion that led to her boyfriend’s death. Kennedy Stith, 27, has been charged with the murder of 32-year-old Edevion White, who was found dead in their residence on May 1, 2023.
Details of the Arrest
The arrest of Stith occurred on September 12, following a lengthy investigation conducted by local police. Initially, Stith claimed that two masked assailants had invaded their apartment and killed her boyfriend. However, Pleasanton detectives uncovered evidence indicating that her account was false.
Authorities were able to determine that Stith had allegedly stabbed White in the chest during an altercation at their apartment, located on Owens and Rosewood Drive. Reports indicate that Stith’s story of the home invasion was fabricated.
Nature of the Relationship
According to police sources, Stith’s behavior in the relationship was characterized as “manipulative, abusive, and controlling.” Reports suggest that she coerced White into engaging in illegal drug sales to manage their financial obligations.
Community Response
The police department expressed their condolences to the family and friends of Edevion White, affirming their commitment to working closely with them during this difficult time. They also appreciated the community’s patience throughout the investigation.
Currently, Kennedy Stith is being held at Santa Rita Jail without bail as the legal proceedings unfold.
