Xiaomi is expected to launch the Mix Flip 2 earlier than anticipated due to the impressive sales figures of its predecessor. The upcoming model is rumored to feature a larger battery nestled within a sleeker and lighter body, which promises enhanced portability and user experience.
However, there are some developments worth noting that may not sit well with all prospective users. The Mix Flip 2 will continue to use a dual-camera setup on the rear. Notably, instead of the telephoto lens found in the original model, it will incorporate a 50 MP ultrawide camera with a 1/2.76″ sensor. This will complement a 50 MP primary camera that utilizes a larger 1/1.5″ sensor.

Under the hood, the device will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, ensuring robust performance. The main folding LTPO OLED display is set to boast a resolution of “1.5K” and a size of 6.85 inches, maintaining the high standards associated with Xiaomi’s display technology. Additionally, a large cover display will feature, enhancing functionality. The device will also support NFC, and will include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor integrated into the power button for convenient access.
One notable upgrade for the Mix Flip 2 is its IPX8 certification, providing water resistance that was absent in its predecessor. Furthermore, the device will support wireless charging, adding to the overall convenience for users. While these specifications indicate a promising advancement over the original model, there remains a sense of disappointment that Xiaomi has opted for a dual-camera system, which may ignite discussions on the merits of telephoto versus ultrawide lenses among photography enthusiasts.
