Yash is all set to begin shooting for Ramayana, one of Indian cinema’s most anticipated epics, directed by Nitesh Tiwari.

The highly anticipated film Ramayana, led by director Nitesh Tiwari, is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious endeavors in the Indian film industry. The project boasts a remarkable cast, including Yash, Ranbir Kapoor, Sunny Deol, and Sai Pallavi, and has already sparked significant excitement among audiences. Reports indicate that Yash is poised to start shooting his solo scenes this week in Mumbai, enhancing the expectation surrounding the film.
Insider information reveals that Yash recently completed a vital filming segment for his forthcoming project, Toxic, allowing him to transition into his vital role in the Ramayana. True to his custom, he celebrated the commencement of this new venture with a spiritual visit to the revered Shree Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain.
“Yash is ready to begin his journey with Ramayana, concentrating on a plethora of solo sequences. A special set has been meticulously crafted in Mumbai to capture the magnificence appropriate for the character of Raavana,” stated a source connected to the production. “This initial phase will aim at producing some of the most visually striking scenes featuring Yash, leveraging advanced VFX technology and top-notch cinematography.”
The structure of Ramayana will be split into two parts, with the first installment targeted for release during Diwali 2026, and the second scheduled for Diwali 2027. In this grand retelling, Ranbir Kapoor will take on the role of Lord Ram, while Sunny Deol is set to portray Lord Hanuman, with his filming slated to commence in June.
This cinematic venture is being developed by DNEG in collaboration with Yash’s own production house, Monster Mind Creations, where he plays an active role in the production process. “Yash’s involvement transcends mere performance; he is significantly contributing to the film’s creative vision and helping craft its visual and emotional depth,” revealed an insider.
Following the monumental success of the KGF series, Yash is poised for a remarkable year in 2026, featuring consecutive international releases. He will lead the action-packed thriller Toxic, which is set to premiere in March 2026, followed by Ramayana in October, positioning Yash for a potentially transformative year at the box office.
