‘Yellowstone’ Actress Barret Swatek Auctions $65 Million Maui Estate
Barret Swatek, renowned for her role as Victoria Jenkins on the hit series “Yellowstone,” is making headlines for her decision to auction her luxurious Maui property, which carries a valuation of $65 million. This selling price reflects a premium of $20 million over the couple’s purchase price in 2021, as reported by The Wall Street Journal.
Reasons for the Move
Swatek and her husband, Adam Weiss, a retired hedge-fund manager, are relocating following the birth of their daughter, Dixon, last year. The couple has expressed a desire to raise their children closer to their families in Alabama. Weiss stated, “We just feel like we’re too far from them, and with the baby arriving, it shifted our priorities.”
The Maui estate, which spans over 21,700 square feet and includes eight bedrooms, is located on Keawakapu Beach. Traditionally, this region has drawn affluent buyers, indicating a competitive market for high-value properties. Although the couple discreetly listed the home for $65 million previously, they have now opted for an auction process starting April 10 and concluding April 22. Chad Roffers, CEO of Concierge Auctions managing the sale, anticipates starting bids to range between $17.5 million and $35 million.
Property Enhancements
Since acquiring the estate, Swatek and Weiss have invested significantly in renovations, upgrading various spaces, including converting a media room into a library and enhancing the kitchen with a new bar. Many furnishings will be included in the auction price, further appealing to potential buyers.
Despite the allure of their Maui residence, Swatek’s roots in Alabama remain significant to her. “I’ve really cherished my upbringing and the memories I have of growing up there,” Swatek commented, reminiscing about her childhood experiences with her siblings.
A Track Record of Real Estate Ventures
Swatek and Weiss are known for their history of engaging in high-end real estate transactions. They previously sold their Malibu home for an impressive $70.4 million, after initially listing it for $99.5 million. This Malibu property once belonged to supermodel Cindy Crawford and her husband, Rande Gerber.
Weiss co-founded Scout Capital Management in 1999, managing around $5 billion before the firm ceased operations in 2014. Weiss has since returned to asset management, taking on a leading role at Stillwater Investment Management LP in California.
In addition to her role in “Yellowstone,” Swatek has appeared in various other notable projects, including “Lethal Weapon 4,” “The 40-Year-Old Virgin,” and “7th Heaven.” Her training includes time spent with the Upright Citizens Brigade, an improv group that has produced stars like Amy Poehler and Will Arnett.
In Summary
Swatek’s move to auction her Maui estate reflects both personal changes and a strategic decision in the real estate market. As the couple seeks to establish their family environment closer to their roots, the auction is anticipated to attract significant attention given the property’s high value and the couple’s previous successes in real estate.
