Trump Faces Historic Low Approval Ratings
President Donald Trump is experiencing a significant decline in his approval ratings, a revelation that even Fox News, traditionally perceived as a bastion of support for him, has been unable to sugarcoat.
Recent data shared by the conservative news outlet indicates that Trump’s approval ratings have plummeted to an unprecedented low. At nearly 100 days into his current term, his approval stands at 44%, starkly trailing behind predecessors such as Joe Biden (54%), Barack Obama (62%), and George W. Bush (63%) at the same timeframe in their respective presidencies.
Notably, Trump’s approval rating has even regressed compared to his own previous term, where he had a 45% approval rating at this stage.
The downturn in public sentiment appears to be fueled significantly by economic challenges that were once considered Trump’s strong suit. Presently, the latest Fox News poll highlights that only 38% of respondents approve of his economic management, while a concerning 56% express disapproval. Issues like inflation and tariffs are also seen as weak points for the president, with approval ratings of just 33% for both, against disapprovals of 59% and 58%, respectively.
Trump’s overall approval rating has fallen 5 points since March, where it was recorded at 49% in a prior Fox News survey.
This trend is echoed in other polls. A recent Reuters/Ipsos poll places his approval at 42%, with just 37% backing his economic handling. Meanwhile, a new Pew poll reports his approval rating has dipped further to 40%, declining 7 points in a two-month period.
According to the RealClearPolitics poll average, Trump’s disapproval rating has surged by 12 points over the last three months, reaching a troubling 51.6%, in contrast to 46.1% who still approve of his performance.
